This is a friend's new puppy. I found this project and a few more complicated weaving patterns at Sew Historically. As it happened, my son outgrew some jeans, and with a simple hair-tye, four strips of jean material, and pliers to firmly tuck in the ends, I had a toy. (This is the same weave as the classic summer camp plastic lacing keychain.)
