If you have been wondering how to incorporate Design Thinking or The Engineering Process into everyday lessons, I think the resources at Stanford's dSchool are fantastic. Fifth graders have been working on The Wallet Project during library lessons. I chunked it up into four 15 minute sessions, and the photo shows physical prototyping. Here is a video of one maker describing the needs of her client. Materials I brought out of the makerspace include: tag board, colorful duct tape, markers, rulers, scissors, string, glue sticks. HINT: I had the physical dimensions of US dollars on a board for students to use.
