There are several sources for styrofoam and fabric ornaments online. I think I first learned of this from Sunset Magazine. I showed students how you can tear pretty straight pieces from quilter's cotton. Then the strips are wound around the ball and secured with craft straight pins. I found the styrofoam balls at the Dollar Tree and Michaels. The fabric was hiding in my closet, and the school had straight pins. CHEAP and successful project for beginners.
