After using Snap Circuits and Squishy Circuits, the kids were still curious about electricity. We had also saved the extremely powerful magnet from the motor housing of our go-cart repair thinking it could come in handy for future experimentation. Our custodian, Mr. Whitright, found instructions on Science Projects for building electromagnets. Instead of using D-cell batteries, he bought larger ones and demonstrated reverse polarity. Students competed for a small prize by making the longest paper clip chain.
